Disney+’s ‘Moving’ Dominates 2023 Asia Contents and Global OTT Awards



Disney+ Korean drama “Moving” emerged as the big winner at the 2023 Asia Contents Awards and Global OTT Awards, which took place in Busan, South Korea on October 8. The awards ceremony celebrated excellence in TV, over-the-top (OTT), and online platforms from around the world.

Formerly known as the Asia Contents Awards, the event was rebranded as the Asia Contents Awards & Global OTT Awards (ACA & G.OTT). This year, there were 215 submissions from 18 countries. “Moving” was the standout winner, taking home six awards including Best Creative, the highest honor for a series that has received widespread acclaim globally. The drama features popular actors Han Hyo-joo, Zo In-sung, Ryu Seung-ryong, Cha Tae-hyun, Ryoo Seung-bum, Lee Jung-ha, Kim Sung-kyun, Go Youn-jung, and Kim Do-hoon.

In addition to Best Creative, “Moving” also secured awards for Best Lead Actor for Ryu Seung-ryong, Best Newcomer Actor for Lee Jung-hae, Best Newcomer Actress for Go Youn-jung, Best Writer for Kangfull, and Best Visual Effects. Another Korean drama, “Weak Hero Class 1” produced by Content Wavve, won the award for Best OTT Original.

– Best Supporting Actor: Hsueh Shih-ling for “Taiwan Crime Stories” presented by Sixty Percent Productions / CalFilms / Imagine Entertainment
– Best Supporting Actress: Lim Ji-yeon for “The Glory” presented by Netflix
– Best Newcomer Actor: Lee Jung-ha for “Moving” presented by The Walt Disney Company
– Best Newcomer Actress: Go Youn-jung for “Moving” presented by The Walt Disney Company
– Best Visual Effects: “Moving” presented by The Walt Disney Company

The ceremony also recognized the Rising Star of the Year, which went to Wen Junhui from Seventeen’s Jun for the drama “Exclusive Fairy Tale.” Buffy Chen from “Wave Makers” received the award for Creative Beyond Border. Yuya Yagira was honored with the Excellence Award for his role in “Gannibal.” Watcha received the Special Contribution for OTT Industry award, while Viu and Kocowa were commended with the Special for K-Content award. The New Technology award went to TVING, and the Lifetime Achievement Award was bestowed upon Kim Jong-hak.
