Kapuso actor Rayver Cruz has expressed his readiness to elevate his current relationship with his girlfriend, Julie Anne San Jose, to a new stage of commitment that is both meaningful and lasting. During a media conference for his upcoming series “Asawa Ng Asawa Ko,” which will premiere on GMA Network on Jan. 15, Rayver revealed he’s ready to propose to Julie Anne soon.

“Ibang level na ang relationship namin. Sobrang secured. Sobrang happy. Kita naman kung gaano ko siya kamahal. In God’s perfect time,” said Rayver. “Matagal na po akong naghahanda.”(Our relationship is on a different level. Very secure. Very happy. You see how much I love him. In God’s perfect time. I’ve been preparing for a long time.)

Rayver said he and Julie Anne have no joint bank accounts yet, but he believes he has enough savings.

The talented actor stated that he doesn’t refer to Julie Anne as his wife yet. “Hindi ko pa siya matatawag na asawa kasi hindi pa naman kami kasal. Siyempre doon tayo sa legal. Pero kung itatanong po ninyo kung kailan ako magpapakasal, siguro I will surprise Julie Anne (San Jose). Baka nga mas una n’yo pang malaman. Kailangan ma-caught off guard siya. So siguro ako na lang yung pipili ng tamang oras kasi gusto ko siyang ma-surprise ng todo,” he said.

Rayver has admitted that he and Julie have been discussing marriage. “Pinag-uusapan naman namin minsan. Like ako 34 na ako. I’m not getting and younger and doon na rin naman papunta ang lahat. And again alam naman ng lahat kung gaano ko siya kamahal. Si Julie Anne na talaga yung gusto kong makasama habang buhay. (We talk about it sometimes. Like I’m 34. I’m not getting younger, and that’s where we are going. And again, everyone knows how much I love her. I want to spend my life with Julie Anne.) “Kahit magplano at an early stage, marami pang changes yan. Mas maganda siguro magplano sa tamang panahon na,” the actor-dancer said. (Even if you plan at an early stage, there are still many changes. Maybe it’s better to plan at the right time.)

Rayver shared that his romantic involvement with Julie Anne has been a great source of inspiration in his love for music. “Minahal ko lalo ang music simula ng magkasama kami ni Julie sa mga numbers. Na unlock niya ang potential ko pagdating sa pagkanta. Now I play instruments na rin also,” he said. (I loved music especially since Julie and I did numbers together. She unlocked my potential when it comes to singing. Now I play instruments too.)

It’s inevitable for couples to experience misunderstandings. But in their case, they never experienced a major disagreement in their relationship. “Kung tatanungin ninyo si Jules pagdating sa tampuhan, minsan kasi mabagal talaga ako magreply. Gamer kasi ako at hindi ko naman hawak lagi yung phone ko pero ngayon sanan na siya. (If you ask Jules when it comes to misunderstanding, sometimes I’m really slow to reply. I’m a gamer and I don’t always have my phone with me, but now she’s used to it.) “Si Rodjun (Cruz) nga minsan four times or five times niya ako tinatawagan sa isang araw dahil mabaga talaga akong sumagot. Hindi talaga ako ma-cellphone na tao. Yun lang naman pero wala talaga yung away kasi masaya lang lahat. (Rodjun (Cruz) sometimes calls me four or five times a day because I’m really slow to answer. I’m not really a cell phone person. That’s all. But there are really no big fights because everyone’s just happy.) “Hindi dapat iniisip yung mga negative thoughts kapag nasa isang relationship. Everything happens for a reason and if we put God in the center of our relationships, magiging matibay,” Rayver said.

He expressed his views on the prospect of becoming a father and the potential opportunities that may arise in the future. “Ready na rin ako maging daddy kasi gusto ko na rin magkaroon ng sarili kong pamilya.” Rayver has only nice words for Julie Anne who he describes as a perfect partner. “Sobrang lovable ni Julie. Napakabait, napaka-genuine, napaka-buti ng puso, mabuti ng anak, mabuting kapatid. For me she’s perfect. Wife material talaga siya at napakaswerte ko na ako ang minahal niya,” he said. (Julie is very lovable. She is very kind, very genuine, very kind hearted, good daughter, good sister. For me she’s perfect. She is really wife material and I am very lucky that she loved me.)

‘Asawa Ng Asawa Ko’ Rayver stars in the new GMA series “Asawa Ng Asawa Ko,” which centers on a war between two wives who will do everything to protect what is theirs. He teams up for the first time with Jasmine Curtis-Smith.

“It’s a story about the things people fight for, especially love, family, and freedom,” he said.

Joining the cast are Sparkle’s sought-after stars Martin del Rosario as Jeff and Liezel Lopez as Shaira, together with talented actor Joem Bascon as Leon.

Witness the love story of Cristy (Jasmine) and Jordan (Rayver), who stick together against the world. They live a simple and happy life with their only daughter. However, their family starts to fall apart when Cristy gets abducted by the rebel group “Kalasag.”

Left with no trace of Cristy, Jordan receives news about the death of his wife. Devastated with this loss, Jordan finds comfort in the arms of his friend, Shaira. Soon, Jordan marries her and together, they will rebuild a beautiful family.

Fate seems to be in favor of them until Cristy is finally able to escape from her kidnappers. She returns to the lives of her husband and child. But to her surprise, Jordan and Shaira are now living happily as husband and wife.

Who truly deserves to be with Jordan—the first wife who fought for her freedom to be with her loved ones again? Or the second wife who was beside Jordan during his darkest nights?

Playing the role of villains in the series as members of “Kalasag” are Kim De Leon as Kuwago, the team’s spotter; Bruce Roeland as Bakulaw, the member who is best in martial arts; Luis Hontiveros as Alakdan, Leon’s right hand and the sniper of the group; Patricia Coma as Billie/Pusa, Leon’s daughter who is also a sharpshooter; Jennifer Maravilla as Sawa, the financier of Kalasag; Billie Hakenson as Buwaya, the gossiper and thief who is good in disguising; Ian Ignacio as Igat, the asset of the rebels; and Ms. Mariz Ricketts as Pusit, the group’s mother figure.
