Rare Kurt Cobain and Elvis Presley items up for auction

Electric Guitar Owned by Kurt Cobain Among Top Lots at Upcoming Auction

An electric guitar once owned by Nirvana frontman Kurt Cobain is set to be sold at the Kruse GWS Auction on August 26, 2023. The guitar is expected to fetch upward of $200,000, making it one of the most valuable items at the auction.

The guitar is not the only item from Cobain up for sale. The auction will also include doodles, still photographs, and even swimming goggles that belonged to the American rocker. Lead auctioneer Brigitte Kruse expressed excitement about the guitar, stating, “I think we are going to see some great activity on that guitar. I would expect this one to probably fall in the couple of hundred thousand ranges conservatively.”

The Kruse GWS Auction, titled “Artifacts of Hollywood & Music,” will feature over 350 lots from various singers, actors, and movie costumes. Alongside the Cobain guitar, custom-made jewelry owned by Elvis Presley is expected to fetch hundreds of thousands of dollars at the auction. Additionally, an internet domain with the King of Rock ‘n’ Roll’s name will be featured as a unique lot.

According to Kruse, the owner of the domain, “ElvisPresley.com … owned by a client of ours,” hopes to see it go to someone who can utilize it. While the domain cannot be used for e-commerce, it is conservatively estimated to be worth $100,000.

Movie props will also be up for sale at the auction, including sunglasses worn by Jamie Foxx in the 2006 hit film “Dreamgirls,” as well as the ring and wristwatch he wore in the movie. Vehicles from notable films such as “The Fast and Furious” franchise and one of the five jump cars from “Thelma and Louise” (1991) will also be available for purchase.

With a wide range of celebrity-owned items up for grabs, the Kruse GWS Auction is expected to attract significant attention from collectors and fans alike.
