Randy Santiago discusses ageism in the entertainment industry



Renowned artist Randy Santiago has voiced his support for the proposed Eddie Garcia Bill, aiming to safeguard the rights and well-being of workers in the television and movie industry. Santiago, who hails from a family deeply rooted in the entertainment business, stressed the importance of the bill to protect industry workers, especially those in vulnerable positions.

The Senate recently greenlit Senate Bill (SB) No. 2505, named in honor of the late Eddie Garcia, who tragically passed away in an on-set accident in 2019. Santiago reflected on the challenges faced by the industry during the pandemic-induced lockdowns, emphasizing the need for protective measures for workers.

As live events and concerts gradually return to the scene, Santiago expressed his excitement about upcoming shows, including his own concert titled “Eye-conic” at the PICC Plenary Hall on April 12. Alongside industry stalwarts like Pops Fernandez and Gino Padilla, Santiago plans to deliver an electrifying experience with a lineup of talented guests.
