Film producer Richard Juan is gearing up for the release of his production company 28 Squared Studios’ debut full-length feature “Under Parallel Skies,” which stars Filipino actress Janella Salvador and Thai actor Win Metawin. This unique cross-country project, involving three different nations, is set to hit theaters soon.
Reflecting on the journey of bringing “Under Parallel Skies” to life, Richard shared how the idea for the film originated from the company’s vision of creating content that transcends borders. The concept of a cross-country film emerged, inspired by a similar project featuring Thai actor Mario Maurer in 2012.
After meeting Win in Thailand in 2022, Richard, along with his partner Kristhoff Cagape, founded 28 Squared Studios. The collaboration with Win for a future project came to fruition in 2023, culminating in the selection of Janella as the lead actress for the film.
Co-produced with Two Infinity Entertainment, “Under Parallel Skies” marks the second Filipino project to be distributed by Warner Bros. Pictures. The film premiered at the 17th Asian Film Awards in Hong Kong and is scheduled for theatrical releases across the region, starting with the Philippines on April 17, followed by Singapore and Thailand in May.
With a focus on storytelling that transcends borders, “Under Parallel Skies” promises to captivate audiences with its international flair and onscreen chemistry between Janella Salvador and Win Metawin.
