High chance of thunderstorms expected throughout the Philippines

The Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical, and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa) has forecasted high chances of thunderstorms and hot and humid temperatures across the country on Tuesday, May 21.

According to Pagasa’s weather specialist Rhea Torres, isolated thunderstorms are expected, especially in the afternoon and evening, while hot weather will persist in most parts of Luzon.

Visayas and Mindanao are also expected to experience scorching weather with isolated thunderstorms likely in the afternoon and evening.

Pagasa has reported that there are currently no storms or low-pressure areas being monitored within or near the Philippine area of responsibility.

Temperatures in key cities and areas across the country are expected to range from 18 to 35 degrees Celsius. No gale warning has been issued for the surrounding coasts and inland seas.
