Pia Wurtzbach Offers Her Apologies to Ricky Lee

Beauty queen and actress Pia Wurtzbach has issued an apology to National Artist for Film and Broadcast Arts Ricky Lee after one of her security personnel pushed him away at the Manila International Book Fair. The incident, which was captured on video by ABS-CBN, occurred when Lee attempted to greet Wurtzbach.

During the show “Fast Talk with Boy Abunda,” host Boy Abunda revealed that Wurtzbach had already reached out to Lee to apologize. Abunda expressed his sympathy for Lee, describing him as one of the most beautiful individuals he has ever met. He also acknowledged Wurtzbach’s gesture of apology, even though the incident was not her fault.

The issue has since been resolved, but it serves as a valuable lesson about treating seniors with respect, particularly at cultural events like book fairs. Abunda commended Lee for his humility and stated that he serves as an exemplary figure for others to emulate.

In an exclusive interview with PEP.ph, Lee commented on the incident, saying that the guard could have handled the situation more politely. He emphasized the importance of respecting individuals whom Wurtzbach approaches and interacts with, regardless of their seniority or status as a national artist.

Lee noted that Wurtzbach herself approached and spoke with him, so it was disrespectful for the guard to intervene and fail to acknowledge his interaction with Wurtzbach.
