Tomorrow X Together opens up about career milestones, fears, and their challenging summer

K-pop boy band Tomorrow X Together (TXT) made history as the first Korean act to perform at Lollapalooza, one of the world’s most prestigious and longest-running music festivals. TXT has achieved numerous records since their debut in 2019, including becoming the first K-pop act to enter the Billboard 200 chart with their first album. Their journey and experiences leading up to their performance at Lollapalooza are captured in the documentary “Tomorrow X Together: Our Lost Summer,” available on Disney+.

The documentary follows TXT as they embark on their first world tour, called “Act: Lovesick,” in support of their second full album, “The Chaos Chapter: Freeze,” and their fourth EP, “Minisode 2: Thursday’s Child.” While the film mainly showcases their tour stops in Seoul, Chicago, New York, Atlanta, Dallas, Houston, San Francisco, and Los Angeles, it also gives fans a deeper look into each member’s dreams, doubts, and fears.

During a press conference, the members of TXT expressed their excitement and gratitude for their performance at Lollapalooza. Taehyun stated that it was a memorable experience and they were looking forward to returning to the festival. They also discussed the challenges of being on tour, such as the logistics of traveling and maintaining high energy levels for their performances. However, they acknowledged that they have grown more comfortable and professional with each tour.

When asked who they would choose to portray them in a movie adaptation of the documentary, Kai suggested the Jonas Brothers, citing their experience in acting and involvement in the music industry. The members reflected on their growth as individuals and artists since their debut, attributing their success to their dedicated fanbase, known as MOAs.

The documentary also delves into personal moments and support among the group members. Beomgyu shared that there were caring moments off-camera when the other members would offer support and advice during challenging times. Yeonjun reflected on his journey from living in the United States to becoming a part of K-pop, expressing his gratitude and excitement for the genre’s global success.

The title of the documentary, “Our Lost Summer,” is connected to TXT’s songs “Our Last Summer” and “We Lost the Summer.” The members explained that the songs represent their experiences during the pandemic, where they couldn’t meet their fans in person. However, they aimed to overcome those challenges and create memorable moments through their performances.

The members of TXT hope that “Our Lost Summer” showcases their love for their fans and allows viewers to share in their shining moments as a group. The documentary serves as a testament to their growth and achievements as they continue to evolve as artists.
