Officials of the Philippine National Police – Aviation Security Group (PNP-AVSEGROUP) on Wednesday paid Office for Transportation Security (OTS) Administrator Undersecretary Ma. O Aplasca a courtesy visit to discuss both of the agencies’ plans and initiatives to further enhance security implementation of airport passengers.
Usec. Aplasca and the PNP-AVSEGROUP Officials agreed that there is a need to strengthen the both agencies’ security implementation in the country’s airports through continued cooperation and collaboration, review of the existing security system, and adoption of best practices being implemented in foreign airports.
Usec. Aplasca reiterated the marching order of Department of Transportation (DOTr) Secretary Jaime Bautista to ensure a safe, secured, and comfortable transport system aligned with international standards.
He added that security must be an encompassing response to protect passengers, airport users, airport infrastructures and facilities in order to protect the whole system.
At the courtesy visit were OTS Head Executive Assistant Eugenio Pguirigan, PNP AVSEGROUP Acting Director Anthony A. Aberin, and key officers PCol. Christopher Abrahano, PCol. Cesar Gerente, PCol. Arcil L. Martinez, Abreu, and PCol. Bernie H. Orig.
