MediaQuest partners with Nine Media for RPTV with MVP at the helm

MediaQuest Holdings (MQH), TV5, and Nine Media Corp. (NMC) have announced the launch of RPTV, a new channel that will be facilitated by Nine Media’s airtime agreement with RPN. This collaboration comes after TV5 and NMC formalized an agreement for content distribution, sales, and marketing services for RPTV.

RPTV took over the frequencies previously held by CNN Philippines (CNN PH), after the latter ceased its operations on January 31 due to financial losses. The newly launched channel is set to be free-to-air and will feature a lineup of sports, news, and entertainment shows.

According to TV5 President and CEO Guido Zaballero, the collaboration with Nine Media will bring together MQH’s “vast library of programs” and NMC’s nationwide reach. RPTV debuted on February 1 and is accessible through various platforms including analog, DTT, and live streaming on the Cignal Play app.

The collaboration is expected to broaden the reach of both TV5 and NMC, allowing them to deliver entertainment, sports, news, and public service content to a wider audience.
