Petro Gazz on the Rise, Aiming for Top Position

The Petro Gazz Angels are in a strong position to clinch the PVL All-Filipino Conference title as they head into the semifinals. With a record of 8-2, the Angels are set to face Nxled in their final elimination-round game at the PhilSports Arena today.

Having already secured a spot in the semifinals, the Angels are aiming to extend their winning streak to five games and secure the top seeding. Team captain Remy Palma stated, “Gusto lang namin to finish strong sa elimination,” expressing the team’s determination to finish the elimination round on a high note.

Under the coaching of Japanese Koji Tsuzurabara, Petro Gazz is making a comeback to the semifinals after missing out in the past two conferences. The team’s last semifinal appearance was in the first All-Filipino Conference last year, where they finished as the runner-up.

Looking to secure their third title and first Open or All-Filipino crown, the Angels are focused on reaching the finals. Their previous titles came in the Reinforced Conference in 2019 and 2022, and they are now eyeing a successful campaign in the ongoing conference.

In addition to Petro Gazz’s game against Nxled, other matches scheduled for today include Cignal (6-4) facing Capital1 Solar (1-9) at 2 p.m. and Akari (4-6) taking on Strong Group Athletics (0-10) at 6 p.m.
