WINNERS: 71st Miss Universe Competition

The 71st Miss Universe Pageant, which took place on January 14 in New Orleans, Louisiana, has announced its winners.

Miss Universe 2022: USA – R’ Bonney Gabriel

Model, sewing instructor, and eco-friendly fashion designer R’Bonney has a zest for life. She credits her exposure to the arts, athletics, and travel during her upbringing for giving her an opportunistic viewpoint. She was a high school volleyball player who switched to fashion at the age of 15, and she rapidly fell in love with creating designs using materials and textiles. She graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in Fashion Design and a Minor in Fibers from the University of North Texas in 2018. She currently serves as the CEO of R’Bonney Nola, her own line of eco-friendly clothes.

1st Runner-Up: Venezuela – Amanda Dumamel

Amanda Dudamel is a well-known fashion designer who studied at the London College of Fashion and earned her degree from the European Institute of Design in Rome. She has lived in eight different nations, and as a result, she has first-hand knowledge of current developments in digital design and environmentally friendly manufacturing techniques.

2nd Runner-Up: Dominican Republic – Andreina Martinez

Andrena Martnez’s moving tale of immigrating to the United States and the Dominican Republic gives her courage. Without knowing a single word of English and at the age of 13, Martnez left the Dominican Republic’s countryside to take on the rigors of the Bronx in New York City.
