New Horror Thriller “Night Swim” Promises to Plunge Audiences Into Terror

A new horror thriller titled “Night Swim” is set to haunt audiences as it takes them on a supernatural journey. The film, which is produced by James Wan and Jason Blum, follows their success with this year’s hit thriller “M3gan.” Wan and Blum are renowned for their iconic horror franchises such as “The Saw,” “Insidious,” and “The Conjuring,” as well as films like “Halloween,” “The Black Phone,” and “The Invisible Man.” Now, with “Night Swim,” they aim to push the boundaries of the horror genre even further.

The premise of the film, as revealed in the trailer, revolves around a family who experiences terror after moving into their new home. The logline of the movie warns, “No running. No diving. No lifeguard on duty. No swimming after dark,” hinting at the horrors that await the unsuspecting family.

Directed by Bryce McGuire, “Night Swim” is based on the critically acclaimed 2014 short film by Rod Blackhurst and Bryce McGuire. The cast includes Wyatt Russell, known for his role in “The Falcon and the Winter Soldier,” as Ray Waller, a former major league baseball player forced into retirement due to a degenerative illness. Ray moves into the new home with his concerned wife Eve, portrayed by Oscar-nominated actress Kerry Condon, and their teenage daughter Izzy, played by Amélie Hoeferle, who will also appear in the upcoming “The Hunger Games: The Ballad of Songbirds and Snakes.” Gavin Warren, known for his role in “Fear the Walking Dead,” plays the young son Elliot.

Despite Ray’s hopes of returning to professional baseball, the family faces a malevolent force unleashed by a dark secret in their new home’s past. As the terror ensues, the family finds themselves entangled in an inescapable nightmare.

Distributed by Universal Pictures International (Ph), “Night Swim” will hit Philippine cinemas on January 8, allowing audiences to dive into the depths of horror. With Wan and Blum’s impressive track record in the genre, this latest collaboration promises to leave viewers on the edge of their seats.
