Marina Summers to make special appearance at Miss Universe Philippines 2024 coronation

Drag queen Marina Summers is set to make a special appearance at the upcoming Miss Universe Philippines 2024 coronation night. The Miss Universe Philippines organization confirmed Marina’s participation through its social media accounts on April 11.

“Universe, it’s SUMMERtime!” exclaimed MUPH in their announcement, expressing excitement for Marina’s guesting at the event.

Marina gained recognition for her impressive run on the second season of “RuPaul’s Drag Race: UK vs. the World,” where she finished joint-third. Despite not winning the competition, Marina stood out as one of the show’s biggest stars, receiving accolades from judges and audiences alike.

Known for her exceptional lip-syncing skills and captivating performances, Marina was praised by judges such as Alan Carr and Michelle Visage. She emerged as a strong contender on the show, earning multiple badges from maxi challenges and runways.

The Filipino drag queen showcased her talent by impersonating Manny Pacquiao and donning various Filipino-inspired outfits, including designs by Job Dacon, Mak Tumang, and Axel Que. Her iconic stare, reminiscent of Filipino Miss Universe winner Pia Wurtzbach, became a lasting legacy on the show.

Marina previously finished as the runner-up in “Drag Race Philippines” and is now set to grace the Miss Universe Philippines stage with her presence.

The coronation night, scheduled for May 22 at the Mall of Asia Arena, will see over 50 beauty queens competing for the title currently held by Michelle Dee. The Philippines’ representative will later head to Mexico to vie for the country’s fifth Miss Universe crown.
