Local Actress and Politician Celebrates Birthday with Musical Treat for Constituents
MANILA, Philippines — Actress and Cavite Second District Rep. Lani Mercado Revilla recently celebrated her birthday with a musical treat for her constituents last April 13. However, the star still has a wish to fulfill for her 56th birthday.
She expressed her desire to travel more with her husband, Sen. Ramon “Bong” Revilla, as they approach their 38th wedding anniversary this May. Lani dreams of visiting Switzerland and experiencing the romantic sites featured in the popular Korean TV series, “Crash Landing on You” (2019), starring Hyun Bin and Son Ye Jin.
The actress revealed that Hyun Bin, the star of “Crash Landing on You,” has been her crush ever since she watched the romantic drama series during the pandemic. She even received a Hyun Bin standee from her sister-in-law, Chaye Cabal Revilla, which she proudly displayed in her office room at home.
Despite her wishes, Lani acknowledged that the trip might not happen soon due to their busy schedules with the upcoming elections next year. However, she did get the chance to travel to Los Angeles, California last February to witness the birth of her fifth grandchild, Lauren Angela, daughter of her son Jolo and his wife, Angel Alita.
On her birthday, Lani treated her Bacooreños to the annual free concert, “G na G with Ate Lani,” which featured performances by Pinoy pop sensations The Itchyworms and rapper Flow G. The crowd enjoyed the music and even got a surprise visit from Sen. Bong who presented Lani with a bouquet of flowers.
In a separate event, Sen. Bong was officially proclaimed an “adopted son” by the Municipal Council of Sablayan, Occidental Mindoro in a formal resolution. The council recognized his support for Sablayan and his participation in this year’s opening of the provincial sports meet. The resolution also mentioned the “Revilla Law” that he authored, which allows senior citizens to enjoy their cash gift at an earlier age.
Despite his recent injury while filming the action flick “Alyas Pogi 4,” Sen. Bong remains in good spirits and is currently recovering in the hospital following surgery for an Achilles tendon injury. He expressed disappointment at the delay in his schedule but remains optimistic about his recovery process.
