OCD issues warning against dealing with brokers and fixers

The Office of Civil Defense (OCD) has issued a warning to the public regarding the illicit activities of certain groups and individuals. These individuals have been using the name of the agency and its officers for fraudulent government transactions.

According to the advisory released by the OCD, these schemers are involved in transactions related to the National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Fund applications and agency procurements. They often use forged, falsified, and fictitious documents to make their transactions appear legitimate.

In response to these activities, Administrator Undersecretary Ariel Nepomuceno emphasized the importance of vigilance. He urged the public not to fall victim to these schemes and reminded them that all official transactions and documents from the agency are processed through authorized channels and personnel only.

The OCD also encouraged the public to report any suspicious transactions to the authorities. Additionally, they have requested the National Bureau of Investigation to investigate and apprehend the individuals behind these fraudulent schemes.
