Avoid Following Popular Trends for Your First Album Release

New Music Acts Plume and Sala Opt for Authenticity over Trends

The music industry is ever-evolving, with new artists constantly emerging on the scene. However, for up-and-coming acts like Plume and Sala, following trends is not a top priority. Instead, they prioritize authenticity in their work to establish a genuine connection with their audience.

During a recent Zoom conference organized by AltG Records, Sala’s drummer Fourth Dayag emphasized the importance of staying true to their music. “Platforms like YouTube and Spotify showcase what’s trending, but for us, it’s about creating music that resonates with us as a band,” he stated. Vocalist Neth Macam added, “While it’s essential to stay informed, we believe in delivering a message that truly connects with listeners, regardless of trends.”

Sala, whose name translates to “living room” in Tagalog, aims to provide a space for open conversations through their music. Their debut single, “Hi, Tita,” delves into the pressure individuals face to prioritize career over love, reflecting on societal expectations within family dynamics.

Meanwhile, Plume, a singer-songwriter and computer science student, is breaking new ground by infusing jazz elements into his music. His debut single, “Beautiful,” is a heartfelt acoustic ballad that incorporates jazz chords to offer a unique listening experience.

Both Plume and Sala have recently signed with AltG Records, expressing gratitude for the opportunity to share their music with a wider audience. As they continue to explore their respective styles and messages, these emerging artists are dedicated to creating music that resonates with listeners and provides a moment of respite in the ever-evolving music landscape.
