Bicol Loco Festival to Feature Hot Air Balloons Against Mayon Volcano Backdrop

Daraga, Albay – Get ready for a spectacular sight as colorful hot air balloons, including replicas of a Spanish monastery, dogs, and a dinosaur, will take to the skies against the majestic backdrop of the Mayon Volcano at the start of the three-day Bicol Loco festival from May 3 to 5 in Daraga, Albay.

Ako Bicol party-list Rep. Zaldy Co, the visionary behind the festival, aims to attract more tourists to the area to create local job opportunities and boost the economy. The festival will kick off with a hot air balloon display at the old Legazpi Airport before sunrise on Friday, May 3.

In addition to the hot air balloons, the public can enjoy free concerts featuring top artists like Bamboo, Sarah Geronimo, Ely Buendia, and Jericho Rosales on the nights of May 3 and May 4. Pilots from various countries will showcase their skills in balloon, aerobatic, and drone shows, along with skydivers from around the world.

Other attractions at the festival include fireworks, aerobatics, a drone show, car drifters, and even a race between a Porsche electric car and a piston-powered airplane. Capt. Joy Roa, Co’s co-organizer, promises colorful days and unforgettable memories at the Bicol Loco festivities.
