UAAP Season 86 women’s volleyball tournament kicks off
Reigning champion La Salle dominated Adamson in straight sets, while University of the East scored a historic victory against Ateneo to open the UAAP Season 86 women’s volleyball tournament at the Mall of Asia Arena.
La Salle’s win was led by Season 85 Rookie-MVP Angel Canino who contributed 14 points, helping seasoned mentor Ramil de Jesus earn his 300th career win in UAAP women’s volleyball history. Shevana Laput, Thea Gagate, and Amie Provido also made significant contributions to the team’s victory.
Meanwhile, University of the East’s victory was highlighted by super rookie Casiey Monique Dongallo’s impressive debut, scoring 27 points and receiving support from Riza Nogales and Kayce Balingit.
The historic win for University of the East was its first against Ateneo since 2010.
