Alex Eala reaches quarterfinals at W25 Aldershot but falls short in doubles semifinals.

Alex Eala, the 18-year-old Filipino tennis player, has advanced to the quarterfinals of the W25 Aldershot singles tournament in Great Britain. Eala, who is the No. 3 seed, defeated Talia Gibson of Australia in a three-set match, winning 4-6, 6-4, 6-3. After losing the first set, Eala rallied back and took control of the match. She broke a 4-4 tie in the second set and went on to win four consecutive games to secure her victory. Eala, a graduate of the Rafael Nadal Academy, will face American Jenna Defalco in the quarterfinals.

In addition to her singles success, Eala also competed in the doubles tournament with her partner Urszula Radwanska. However, the duo was eliminated in the semifinal round after losing to Saki Imamura and Erina Hayashi of Japan in straight sets, 4-6, 4-6. Eala and Radwanska had previously defeated the No. 1 seed tandem of Emily Appleton and Lauryn John-Baptiste in the quarterfinals.

Eala, who is aiming for her second consecutive championship following her win at the W25 Roehampton last week, is also vying for her fourth pro crown. Despite her success in singles, Eala has yet to secure an International Tennis Federation (ITF) doubles title since her appearance in the finals of the W25 Platja D’Aro in Spain in May 2021.

The young tennis player’s impressive performances have garnered attention and support from fans worldwide. Eala’s determination and skill on the court continue to make her a rising star in the tennis world.
