K-pop Artists Win Big at 2023 Billboard Music Awards
In a monumental achievement for the K-pop industry, several Korean artists won awards at the 2023 Billboard Music Awards, which took place on November 19 (November 20 in the Philippines). The winners included BTS’ Jungkook, Stray Kids, BLACKPINK, and NewJeans.
Jungkook took home the Top Global K-Pop Song award for “Seven (feat. Latto),” triumphing over other artists including Jimin and NewJeans. He expressed his gratitude, saying, “Thank you so much for the top global K-pop song for ‘Seven.’ It’s truly an honor. It’s very hard to express my gratitude in words. Thank you ARMY and everyone who loves this song.”
Meanwhile, BLACKPINK secured the Top K-Pop Touring Artist award, Stray Kids won Top K-pop Album, and NewJeans was awarded the Top Global K-Pop Artist. Performing at the event, Stray Kids sang their hits “S-Class” and “LALALALA.”
