Beloved News Anchor Mike Enriquez Passes Away, GMA Network Mourns

August 29, 2023 – GMA Network, one of the leading television networks in the Philippines, has released an official statement expressing their deep sorrow over the passing of veteran broadcaster and news anchor Mike Enriquez.

Mr. Miguel “Mike” C. Enriquez, 71, peacefully joined our Creator on August 29, leaving a void in the hearts of his colleagues, friends, and loyal viewers.

Enriquez was known for his stellar work as one of the anchors of GMA’s flagship newscast “24 Oras” and as the host of the long-running public affairs program “Imbestigador.” He played a pivotal role in RGMA Network, Inc. as its President and also held the position of GMA Network’s Senior Vice President and Consultant for Radio Operations. In addition, he anchored the popular morning show “Super Balita sa Umaga” and the radio program “Saksi sa Dobol B” on DZBB.

With a career spanning 54 years, Enriquez began his journey in the broadcast industry in 1969 and joined GMA Network in 1995. Throughout his tenure, he wholeheartedly served the Filipino audience, delivering news and information that touched the lives of countless individuals.

The Board of Directors, management, and employees of GMA Network, Inc. are deeply saddened by the loss of Mr. Enriquez. His dedication to the industry serves as an inspiration to everyone, and his contributions will not be forgotten.
