Fire in West Rembo, Taguig, impacts 18 individuals



A fire in Barangay West Rembo, Taguig on Jan. 8 affected a total of 18 people, according to the Taguig City Fire Station. The fire started from the second floor of a house in Sitio 2 in West Rembo at about 9:51 p.m. and was put under control at 10:28 p.m.

The fire totally destroyed two houses and partially burned two others, causing damage amounting to P400,000. No one was hurt in the fire, which affected four families or 18 individuals. The cause of the fire is still under investigation.

A total of 16 fire trucks and two ambulances responded to the incident, and Taguig Mayor Lani Cayetano visited the affected individuals, who are temporarily staying in the barangay hall. They were given assistance by the Taguig Social Welfare and Development Office.

The Facebook page of Marikina Filipino – Chinese Fire Brigade Volunteers has posted photos of the incident, showing the extent of the damage caused by the fire. The affected families are in need of support and assistance to recover from the loss caused by the fire.
