Marcos says no reports of ‘destabilization plot’ among active police officers

President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. dismissed rumors of an alleged plot to remove him from office involving active police officials. In an interview in General Santos City, the president stated that while there may be retired police officials involved in the supposed destabilization plot, he does not believe there is a need for a loyalty check among current police personnel. He emphasized the importance of police officers focusing on their duties and being professional. The Philippine National Police challenged former senator Antonio Trillanes IV to provide evidence supporting his claims of a plot to oust Marcos. Meanwhile, Armed Forces of the Philippines chief Gen. Romeo Brawner Jr. initially mentioned rumors of destabilization plans among retired military officers but later clarified that his words were misconstrued.
