Davao Aguilas Salvage Thrilling Draw with Mendiola FC

In a thrilling match in the Copa Paulino Alcantara, veteran Marvin Angeles scored a last-minute equalizer for Davao Aguilas, helping them salvage a 3-3 draw against Philippines Football League (PFL) side Mendiola FC 1991. The result strengthens Davao Aguilas’ bid to reach the knockout stage of the competition.

Yannick Tuason scored twice for Davao Aguilas, putting them ahead in the race for the Golden Boot award. However, Mendiola FC appeared to be on their way to victory after Elijhone Rasonable scored in the 84th minute to make it 3-2. But Angeles’s late goal ensured that the spoils were shared between the two teams.

In another match, Manila Digger held PFL club Maharlika-Manila to a 1-1 draw. Jhon Azores gave Manila Digger the lead in the 39th minute, but Ibrahima Ndour equalized for Maharlika in the second half.

Meanwhile, Kaya-Iloilo dominated Loyola FC with a resounding 7-0 win in their Group A match. Fitch Arboleda scored twice, while new additions Ricky Sendra, Justin Baas, Abou Sy, and Mark Swainston also found the back of the net. The result improves Kaya-Iloilo’s chances of winning a record-extending third Copa title.

Loyola FC, on the other hand, ended the group stage with four points and slim hopes of making it to the quarterfinals.

The Copa Paulino Alcantara continues to deliver exciting matches as teams battle it out for a spot in the knockout stage.
