Thirdy and San-En extend winning streak to 8 games; Ramos and Hokkaido triumph

Thirdy Ravena continues to shine as San-En Neophoenix extends winning streak

In a thrilling match on Saturday, November 4, Thirdy Ravena showcased his skills once again as the San-En Neophoenix secured their eighth consecutive victory in the 2023 B.League season. Meanwhile, Dwight Ramos and his team, Levanga Hokkaido, celebrated their first win of the season.

Ravena played a key role in the Neophoenix’s 89-73 triumph over the Utsunomiya Brex, contributing 18 points and six rebounds. With this win, the Neophoenix now hold an impressive 8-1 record, placing them at the top of the Naka district standings.

On the other hand, Hokkaido put an end to their eight-game losing streak with an impressive 70-64 victory over the Fighting Eagles Nagoya. Ramos demonstrated his versatility and effectiveness on the court, amassing eight points, five rebounds, five assists, and four steals. This win marked a breakthrough for Hokkaido after eight consecutive losses.

Unfortunately, AJ Edu’s outstanding double-double performance was not enough to secure a victory for the Toyama Grouses. Despite Edu’s 11 points, 12 rebounds, and two blocks, the Grouses succumbed to the Shinshu Brave Warriors, led by RJ Abarrientos, in an 86-79 defeat. The Grouses have yet to secure a victory in their first 10 games.

In another match, the Nagoya Diamond Dolphins, once unstoppable with a 7-0 start to the season, suffered their third consecutive loss against the Gunma Crane Thunders, with a final score of 76-67. Ray Parks struggled to make an impact on the court, managing only two points and one rebound in 11 minutes of play.

In other games, Carl Tamayo displayed a commendable performance for the Ryukyu Golden Kings, although they suffered an 81-76 loss against the Osaka Evessa. Tamayo contributed seven points and six rebounds.

Moreover, the Kyoto Hannaryz, led by Matthew Wright, faced a crushing defeat against the Hiroshima Dragonflies, who played without Kai Sotto. The game ended with a score of 91-57, with Wright contributing 12 points, two rebounds, and two assists.

Unfortunately, Jordan Heading’s absence hindered the Nagasaki Velca’s impressive run in Division 1. Nevertheless, the team managed to secure a convincing 98-81 victory against Ibaraki.

Meanwhile, in the B2 League, Kiefer Ravena had an outstanding performance, contributing eight points and eight assists as the Shiga Lakes narrowly escaped with a 74-68 win over the Kobe Stokes.

These recent results illustrate the intense competition and exciting moments in the ongoing B.League season, captivating the fans and keeping them at the edge of their seats.
