Novak Djokovic Leads Serbia to Victory Against China
On December 31, Novak Djokovic helped the Serbian team secure a 2-1 win against China during the United Cup in Perth. Djokovic, the world number one, teamed up with Olga Danilovic to win the mixed doubles match.
The Serbs won their first match, while the Chinese team now stands at 1-1. Earlier, Djokovic won his singles match against Zhang, and Danilovic lost her match against Zheng.
After the mixed doubles win, Djokovic thanked the fans who stayed late to watch the match and then led the crowd in a countdown to midnight. Danilovic expressed her happiness at partnering with Djokovic and achieving the win.
In other matches at the United Cup, defending champions USA also secured a 2-1 win against Britain with a deciding doubles match during the competition. Canada also emerged victorious against Chile after Leylah Fernandez led the team to a victory in her singles match and then in mixed doubles.
