Sy Wins Junior Karting Athlete of the Year for 2023



A talented young karter, Ryan Sy, has been recognized for his exceptional achievements in the past season by being awarded the Junior Karter of the Year trophy. Throughout the 2023 season, Sy clinched Junior Overall Championships in both the Rok GP Cup Philippines and Rotax Max Challenge Philippines.

As a result of his impressive performances, Sy earned invitations to compete in prestigious events such as the ROK Cup Superfinal in Lonato, Italy, and the Rotax Max Challenge Grand Finals in Bahrain. These opportunities allowed him to test his skills against some of the best karters in the world and gain valuable experience.

Sy also made his mark in the Asian Karting Open Championship (AKOC), securing podium finishes at various races. At just 14 years old, Sy is already looking ahead to a promising 2024 campaign and is set to reveal his plans in the coming weeks. He will also be traveling to France for a performance assessment at 321 Perform, a center known for developing top F1 drivers such as Esteban Ocon and Alex Albon.

Reflecting on his accomplishments, Sy expressed his gratitude for the recognition, stating, “After all the setbacks and hardships, I pushed through to win the Rok GP Cup Philippines and Rotax Max Challenge Philippines. Receiving the Junior Karter of the Year trophy at the Golden Wheel Awards makes it all worth the effort and I feel ecstatic.”
