CSC Invites Nominations to Commemorate Deceased Civil Servants

CSC Encourages Nominations for Pamanang Lingkod Bayani Program to Honor Sacrifices of Civil Servants

The Civil Service Commission (CSC) is seeking nominations for the Pamanang Lingkod Bayani (PLBi) program, which aims to honor civil servants who have tragically lost their lives while on duty. CSC Chairperson Karlo Nograles has urged agency and regional office heads to submit nominations for qualified deceased or killed personnel to the CSC regional or field offices within six months of their passing.

The PLBi program extends to civilian employees with various forms of employment status, including permanent, temporary, probationary, elective, contractual, casual, and co-terminus positions. However, those already entitled to compensation and death benefits under existing laws and regulations are excluded from the program.

Nograles emphasized the importance of recognizing and appreciating the dedication and bravery exhibited by the fallen civil servants, who prioritized public service until the very end. Through the PLBi program, the CSC aims to ensure that their efforts are not overlooked and that their sacrifices are valued. Nograles added that the CSC provides a one-time financial assistance package to the bereaved families of the fallen heroes through the “Pondong Pamanang Lingkod Bayani” initiative.

To honor these brave individuals, their families are presented with a signed plaque from the CSC chairperson during the “Pamanang Parangal sa Lingkod Bayani” ceremony, organized by the CSC regional office. Furthermore, the “Pamanang Lingkod Bayani Iskolarsyip” program allows up to three eligible beneficiaries of PLBi honorees to receive scholarships in state universities and colleges.

With the Pamanang Lingkod Bayani program, the CSC seeks to pay tribute to the unwavering commitment and sacrifice of civil servants who lost their lives while serving the public. By providing financial assistance and educational opportunities, the program aims to support the families left behind and express gratitude for the contributions made by these unsung heroes.
