“Blue Room” and “Family Matters” Take Home Top Honors at 6th Eddys Awards



The 6th EDDYS: A Night Celebrating Filipino Artistry

The 6th Edition of The Entertainment Editors Choice Awards, or The Eddys, took place at the Aliw Theater in Pasay City on November 26th, honoring the creatives and artists who have shown remarkable performances in the past year.

Organized by the Society of Philippine Entertainment Editors (SPEEd) led by Eugene Asis, the successful awards ceremony was directed by Eric Quizon and hosted by Piolo Pascual and Iza Calzado.

“Blue Room” and “Family Matters” were among the big winners in the film category, with Janine Gutierrez (Bakit’ Di Mo Sabihin), Max Eigenmann (12 Weeks), Elijah Canlas (Blue Room), and Nikki Valdez (Family Matters) taking home awards in the acting category.

The 6th EDDYS also recognized individuals and groups in various other categories, including Best Sound, Best Musical Score, Best Visual Effect, and Best Supporting Actor.

The event also saw the presentation of special awards such as the Isah V. Red Awardees, Joe Quirino Award, and Manny Pichel Award, as well as the Rising Producer of the Year and Producer of the Year awards.

The Eddys Icon Award was given to Niño Muhlach, Aga Muhlach, and Snooky Serna, while the Best Actor and Best Actress awards went to Elijah Canlas and Max Eigenmann/Janine Gutierrez, respectively.

Overall, the 6th EDDYS celebrated the outstanding achievements and contributions of Filipino talent in the entertainment industry over the past year.
