Tragic Accident: 8-Year-Old Boy Dies After Being Hit by Ambulance on Christmas Eve in Negros Occidental
BACOLOD CITY – A heartbreaking incident occurred in Barangay Rizal, Silay City, Negros Occidental on Christmas Eve, as an eight-year-old boy lost his life after being struck by an ambulance. The victim’s name has been withheld by the authorities.
The fatal accident took place when the young boy suddenly crossed the road while an ambulance, transporting a critical patient from the Teresita Jalandoni Provincial Hospital in Silay City to Bacolod City, passed through the area.
Following the tragic incident, the 42-year-old ambulance driver immediately surrendered to the police after completing the transportation of the patient. Tragically, the victim passed away at a private hospital in Bacolod City on Christmas Day.
According to police reports, both parties involved have initiated discussions for an initial settlement. This unfortunate event serves as a stark reminder of the dangers posed by emergency vehicles on the road, especially during critical situations.
