Viu Philippines to premiere the Korean film masterpiece ‘The Moon’ on Christmas Eve

“The Moon” Premieres on Viu Philippines Just in Time for Christmas

Korean film fans have something to look forward to this Christmas as Viu Philippines is set to release “The Moon” on Dec. 24. The film is set in the year 2029 and tells the story of a botched lunar exploration that leaves crewmember Sun Woo stranded in space. The space center enlists the help of former managing director Kim Jae Guk, who was involved in a previous, albeit disastrous, mission, in an effort to bring the astronaut safely back to Earth.

Do Kyung Soo, a member of the popular K-pop boy band EXO, stars as Sun Woo in what is said to be his biggest film to date. The singer-actor has received recognition for his role, including the Star of the Year Award at South Korea’s 2023 Buil Film Awards, as well as nominations at the Grand Bell Awards and Blue Dragon Film Awards. D.O. also stars in other Viu productions, including the comedy documentary series “GBRB: Reap What You Sow” and the drama series “Bad Prosecutor.”

Directed by Yong Hwa Kim, “The Moon” has been praised by reviewers as a true sci-fi masterpiece, described as “thrilling”, “immersive”, “superb” and “mind-blowing.”

The film will be available in both Korean with English subtitles and Tagalog dubbed versions on Viu Premium. Viewers can download the Viu app via the Apple Store or Play Store, or visit www.viu.com to watch the film and other Asian dramas and films.
