Vic Sotto reassures no ill feelings with ‘It’s Showtime’ cast

Vic Sotto Clarifies No Bad Blood with ‘It’s Showtime’ Cast

In a recent statement, Vic Sotto clarified that there is no animosity between the hosts of “Eat Bulaga” and “It’s Showtime.” Sotto, along with Tito Sotto and Joey de Leon (TVJ), emphasized that their group has a different adversary.

During an episode of the TV5 noontime show on April 20, Sotto mentioned that they never considered the cast of the ABS-CBN produced show as enemies, but rather as counterparts. Despite TVJ’s departure from Television and Production Exponents (TAPE) Inc. almost a year ago, no public reconciliation has taken place between the two camps.

Sotto explained, “An enemy is different from competition. It could be a friendly competition. It has always been the case with ‘Eat Bulaga’ and ‘It’s Showtime,’ ‘yun ang nagpapasaya sa tanghalian ng mga Pilipino” (It’s what makes a Filipino’s lunchtime better).

Regarding the ongoing rivalry between the fans of both shows, Sotto acknowledged it as part of the game but emphasized that it shouldn’t linger for too long. When asked about rumors surrounding the alleged closure of the noontime show due to low profits, Sotto simply stated that bashers should continue with their false stories.

Sotto’s brother, former senator Tito Sotto, and de Leon previously expressed their disappointment over allegations of the show’s bankruptcy. However, they have since denied these rumors in a recent episode of the show.
