Two Suspected “Salvage” Victims Found in Bago City, Negros Occidental

On Friday, September 22, two suspected “salvage” or summary execution victims were discovered in Purok Talutog, Barangay Dulao, Bago City, Negros Occidental. The bodies were found by a duck raiser in a grassy part of the area.

Police Staff Sgt. Armando Arao Jr., Bago City police investigator, stated that the victims were simply dumped in the location, and there was no evidence to suggest that the crime occurred there. The victims’ hands, legs, and faces were bound with packing tape and showed signs of physical abuse, indicating that they were likely beaten.

Arao mentioned that a lever hose was tied around the victims’ necks, suggesting possible strangulation. However, it has not been confirmed if this was the cause of their death.

The area where the bodies were found is secluded, away from any residential areas. As such, no witnesses have come forward. Arao also mentioned that there have been no reports of missing individuals in Bago City, leading to speculation that the victims may be from other areas.

In an effort to identify the victims, Arao has alerted other police stations for assistance.
