The Consequences of Good Intentions: A Critical Analysis of the CIA

Senators Pia Cayetano and Alan Peter Cayetano, along with talk show host Boy Abunda, provided advice and help to a man named Franklin who sought assistance after being assaulted twice while trying to discipline a child in his neighborhood. The incidents were caught on CCTV camera, showing Franklin using extra force when grabbing the child’s nape.

During their program “CIA with BA,” Senator Alan Peter Cayetano emphasized the importance of not putting hands on another person’s child, regardless of good intentions. Senator Pia Cayetano also expressed her concern over the unnecessary use of force and unreasonable actions by Franklin.

The siblings and Boy Abunda discussed possible outcomes of the situation, including potential legal consequences for both parties involved. They also offered to help Franklin by speaking to the barangay captain or assigning one of their lawyers, as long as both sides admitted their wrongdoing.

The program, “CIA with BA,” is a continuation of the legacy of the late Senator Rene Cayetano and airs every Sunday on GMA7 at 11:00 p.m. The late Senator was known for his legal expertise and gained fame through his radio and TV program ‘Compañero y Compañera.’
