The sunny morning of June 20 burst into colors, sights, and sounds of the Filipino culture as the Pista sa Nayon-themed floats paraded in the streets of Misamis Oriental’s Summer Capital, Sugbongcogon, on its 60th Charter Day celebration.
The dance presentations of teachers from different school clusters in the municipality kept the Filipino spirit high as they featured the famous festivals in the region and country at the Municipal Gymnasium, immersing locals and visitors in a vibrant town festival experience and a show of unity.
Now in their two-peat victory, Barangay Sta. Cruz clinched the championship for this year’s Float Parade Contest. Barangay Kaulayanan emerged in the first spot, with Barangay Ampianga coming in second.
The ribbon-cutting ceremony for the Agri-Booth Fair also succeeded the program at noon.
