Fil-Am basketball star hosting camp before NBTC competition

13-year-old Filipino-American basketball player, Braylon “BJ” Williams, is set to give back to the local basketball community before competing in the upcoming National Basketball Training Center (NBTC) Manila Live tournament. Williams, the son of former NFL wide receiver Roydell Williams and Filipina cell biologist Annabelle Manalo-Morgan, will serve as assistant camp director to Fil-Nation Select head coach Cris Gopez at a half-day camp on Saturday, March 16 at the Gatorades Hoop Center.

The camp, open to players aged 11 to 14, is the first event organized by Williams’ own foundation, the “BJs38 Foundation”, in partnership with Fil-Nation Select. Williams, a AAU World Champion, will be competing with the Fil-Nation Select USA U14 team in Manila Live and aims to share his basketball knowledge with the next generation alongside Coach Gopez.

Inspired by his younger brother Macario, who underwent a medical procedure at a young age, Williams is driven by the belief that everyone deserves joy and opportunities. The basketball clinic, set to have 100 participants, marks the beginning of Williams’ community efforts in Manila.

Williams and Coach Gopez will then join the NBTC activities starting Monday, March 18.
