Pasay upsets Davao Occidental in thrilling MPBL game
Pasay shocked the Davao Occidental Tigers with a narrow 57-56 victory last Friday at the Cuneta Astrodome in the Maharlika Pilipinas Basketball League (MPBL) Sixth Season. This win stole the spotlight from early victors Batangas and South Cotabato.

The Batangas City Tanduay Rum Masters dominated the Imus Agimat in every quarter, securing a 108-79 win, while the South Cotabato Warriors relied on Kyle Tolentino’s impressive performance to defeat the Muntinlupa Cagers, 103-62.

Levi Hernandez led Batangas with 23 points, four rebounds, and three assists, with support from Jeckster Apinan and Oliver Neal Arim. Batangas now shares the top spot with Negros, Parañaque, and Zamboanga.

Despite John Rey Sumido’s 27 points for Imus, the team suffered its third consecutive loss. South Cotabato’s Tolentino made 7 of 11 three-pointers to lead his team to a commanding 100-57 lead over Muntinlupa.

The MPBL action continued at the Nueva Ecija Coliseum in Palayan City, with a triple-bill featuring Rizal against Bicolandia, Valenzuela against Quezon Province, and Quezon City against Nueva Ecija.
