Michelle Dee, Miss Universe Philippines, expresses gratitude to Filipino fans for ‘bayanihan’ spirit upon her return to the Philippines.

Miss Universe Philippines Michelle Dee received a heartwarming welcome from pageant fans upon her arrival at the airport on Saturday night, November 26. This comes after her successful participation in the 72nd Miss Universe Competition in El Salvador last weekend.

During a media conference at the airport, Michelle expressed her gratitude for the warm welcome and thanked everyone for their support. She emphasized her goal of making the Philippines proud with her representation in the Miss Universe pageant.

Accompanied by her mother, former Miss International Melanie Marquez, and Miss Universe Philippines national director Shamcey Supsup-Lee, Michelle was greeted by hundreds of enthusiastic pageant fans holding small Philippine flags, posters, pictures, and streamers.

In El Salvador, Michelle garnered several special awards, including Best in National Costume, Voice for Change, Spirit of Carnival, and the Miss Universe app fan vote. She also made it to the top 10 in the competition.

However, there was a mix-up in the art card for the top 5 finalists during the semifinal round, causing a stir among pageant fans. The photo of Michelle was mistakenly featured when it should have been the photo of Miss Universe Thailand Antonia Porsild, who finished second in the competition.

Despite the mix-up, Michelle maintained a positive outlook, urging others to act with love, kindness, and respect. She assured fans of her return to television soon, although she did not provide any specific details.

Overall, Michelle’s return to the Philippines was met with warm appreciation and support from her fans and fellow Filipinos.
