Mariel issues apology for mix-up: Clarifies use of vitamin C drip, not glutathione

Actress Mariel Rodriguez apologizes for using Senator Robinhood Padilla’s office as a health clinic. Rodriguez clarified that she received a vitamin C drip and not whitening glutathione, as previously reported. In a statement released through the senator, Rodriguez asked for understanding from all concerned parties, including Senate members and the public. She explained that her intention was to support her husband’s bill and not to disrespect the integrity of the Senate. The host-actress faced criticism online after sharing photos of her IV drip session at the senator’s office. The Department of Health warned against the misuse of injectable glutathione for skin whitening, emphasizing that there are no published clinical trials supporting such use. Senator Nancy Binay mentioned the need to investigate the incident for potential misconduct. Finally, the DOH advised individuals prescribed injectable glutathione for improper purposes to seek legal action against their doctors.
