­­PDEA, UNODC Sign Declaration of Cooperation Turns Over Donated 35 Tablet Computers

The Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) and the United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime (UNODC) signed a Declaration of Cooperation towards an integrated and balanced strategy in addressing the drug problem on January 16, 2023 at the Holiday Inn & Suites, Makati City.

PDEA Director General Undersecretary Moro Virgilio Lazo and Ms. Jo-Ann Emilene de Belen, Senior National Program Officer, UNODC, was the main signatories of the joint cooperation. Also in attendance were Assistant Secretary Israel Ephraim Dickson, PDEA Deputy Director General for Administration; Assistant Secretary Pierre Bucsit, PDEA Deputy Director General for Operations; and PDEA and UNODC high-level officials.

UNODC also donated to PDEA 35 Acer Tablet computers incorporated with 80 training modules on human-rights-based approach against illegal drugs. The portable devices will surely boost the training capabilities of the PDEA Academy.
