Lucena City: Authorities confiscate P8M worth of shabu from prime suspect



Lucena City Police arrested five alleged drug traders, including a husband and wife, in a buy-bust operation in Lucena City. The operation resulted in the seizure of more than P8 million worth of shabu (crystal meth).

The arrested individuals include Alibsar Macasari, a “high-value” target in the drug trade. Macasari was apprehended after selling P60,000 worth of shabu to an undercover agent in Barangay Ibabang Dupay.

Authorities confiscated four plastic sachets and three knot-tied bags containing 400 grams of meth, valued at P2,720,000 according to the Dangerous Drugs Board. The street market value of the seized drugs is estimated at P8,160,000.

In addition to the drugs, police also seized a mobile phone that will undergo digital forensic examination to check for records of drug transactions.

The investigation is ongoing to determine the source of the illegal drugs. Macasari, a resident of General Mariano Alvarez town in Cavite province, is facing charges for violating the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.
