GMA Network Brings Back the Iconic New Year Countdown at SM Mall of Asia
After years of waiting, GMA Network is bringing back the iconic and much-awaited New Year Countdown at SM Mall of Asia on Sunday, December 31, to welcome 2024. The event will feature some of the country’s biggest stars and promises a night of awesome performances and fireworks displays at the SM Mall of Asia Grounds at Seaside Boulevard.
The “Kapuso Countdown to 2024” special will be headlined by Asia’s Limitless Star Julie Anne San Jose, Total Heartthrob Rayver Cruz, and Asia’s Romantic Balladeer Christian Bautista. Other stars joining the lineup include Sanya Lopez, Ken Chan, Rita Daniela, Andrea Torres, and Michelle Marquez Dee.
The event will also feature performances by Sparkle Queen Bees Rabiya Mateo, Lexi Gonzales, and Faith Da Silva, as well as GMA Artist Center’s drama stars and teen idols. GMA’s powerhouse performers Garrett Bolden, John Rex, Jeremiah Tiangco, and the divas of Queendom will bring world-class musical numbers to the stage. The night will be completed with performances by popular Pinoy Pop Groups like 1st.One, Calista, Hori7on, and 1621BC, and a countdown to the New Year led by the hosts and a spectacular fireworks show.
GMA Network is working closely with the Philippine National Police to ensure the safety of all attendees. As part of the security protocols, the event will not be open to persons under the influence of drugs or alcohol, persons in possession of illegal drugs, and children below 3 feet tall. Prohibited items include weapons, flammable objects, professional recording equipment, and food bought outside the venue.
The event is free to attend and gates open at 4:30 p.m. for the 10:30 p.m. show at the SM MOA Grounds in Pasay City. For those who cannot attend in person, the program will be live-streamed on GMA Network’s YouTube channel or can be viewed on GMA-7.
