DPWH Delivers New Sports Center in San Luis, Aurora

The Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) has provided Barangay Bacong in San Luis, Aurora with a new multi-purpose sports complex ready for use by residents and sports enthusiast.

In a report to DPWH Secretary Manuel M. Bonoan and DPWH Regional Office 3 Director Roseller A. Tolentino, Aurora District Engineer Roderick A. Andal said that a total of P24.5 million was allocated to complete the Bacong Sports Center.

With its 1.76-square-kilometer indoor courts and 785.61-square-meter outdoor courts, the facility has designated playing areas for tennis, volleyball, basketball, and sepak takraw.

The facility has two (2) comfort rooms for men and women are also included in the completed facilities to optimize convenience for all users.

According to District Engineer Andal, the provision of such facilities in Barangay Bacong aims to encourage young people to engage in sports activities with the end in mind of promoting an active and healthy lifestyle to all residents of the community.

Aside from hosting sporting events, the Bacong Sports Center can also serve as a venue for various public service activities as well as an evacuation center to shelter San Luis residents during emergencies.
