Biden administration officials prepared for economic mission in Philippines

A high-level US trade and investment mission is set to arrive in the Philippines next week to explore business opportunities in the country. Led by Gina Raimondo, Secretary of the US Department of Commerce, the mission will take place on March 11 to 12, 2024.

The delegation includes key figures from various industries such as technology, energy, aviation, and infrastructure. The visit comes after an announcement by President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. last year, stating that the mission was upon the request of his administration for US businesses to explore investment opportunities in key sectors identified during meetings in the US.

President Marcos expressed optimism about the potential partnerships that may emerge from the visit, highlighting the strong partnership between the Philippines and the United States. This visit marks the first presidential high-level delegation of its kind to any country, underscoring the importance of the relationship between the two nations.
