The visit comes after an announcement by President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. last year, stating that the mission was upon the request of his administration for US businesses to explore investment opportunities in key sectors identified during meetings in the US.

This visit marks the first presidential high-level delegation of its kind to any country, underscoring the importance of the relationship between the two nations.
