The death toll from the Davao de Oro landslide has risen to 28 as reported by the Maco Municipal Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office. The bodies were recovered from tons of soil and rocks that covered an area in Barangay Masara in Maco. The fatalities were confirmed by the Maco local government unit and were a result of heavy downpours in the area. Rescue operations have been ongoing since the incident occurred on Monday evening.
