Xiaomi Mix Fold 3

Xiaomi Mix Fold 3, Equipped with Leica Cameras, Set to Launch in August

In a recent announcement, Xiaomi’s President, Lu Weibing, has confirmed that the highly anticipated Mix Fold 3, featuring cutting-edge Leica-tuned cameras, will hit the market in August.

Weibing made this revelation in response to a question posed on Weibo, within the comments section of a post highlighting Xiaomi’s latest factory upgrade. The Mix Fold 3 will be the inaugural model manufactured in their state-of-the-art Smart Factory and will showcase the renowned Leica brand on its cameras.

Reliable sources have disclosed that the manufacturing systems have undergone significant enhancements, resulting in a sleeker and sturdier foldable design compared to its predecessor.

While the previous iteration, the Mix Fold 2, measured 11.2mm in thickness when folded, the upcoming Mix Fold 3 is rumored to be even slimmer. However, akin to its forerunner, the Mix Fold 3 is expected to remain exclusive to the Chinese market, with no plans for a global release.

Moreover, industry insiders anticipate that the Mix Fold 3 will incorporate a cutting-edge under-display selfie camera embedded within its primary folding screen, along with a remarkable 5x periscope zoom lens integrated into its rear camera setup. Powering this device will be the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 chipset, complemented by a formidable 4,800mAh battery capable of 120W wired charging and 50W wireless charging.

Nevertheless, the Mix Fold 3 is about to encounter fierce competition in the ever-expanding market for foldable phones. Notably, Samsung is set to unveil its Galaxy Z Fold 5 and Z Flip 5 this quarter, while HONOR introduces the Magic V2 and OnePlus unveils its first foldable device. Additionally, other contenders like the Google Pixel Fold, OPPO Find N2, vivo X Fold 2, and HUAWEI Mate X3 are vying for a slice of the foldable phone market as well.

Stay tuned as we bring you further updates on Xiaomi’s Mix Fold 3 and the evolving landscape of foldable smartphones.
