Team Jhong, Kim, and Ion Wins Magpasikat 2023 Grand Championship
The 2023 edition of Magpasikat trended the whole week, as Team Jhong, Kim, and Ion emerged as the grand champion on the popular noontime variety show “It’s Showtime.” The group showcased a performance on the responsible use of social media and technology, earning the highest score from the judges. Their act highlighted the negative impact of social media when not used properly, as well as their impressive parkour and acrobatic skills. They were awarded P300,000, which they will donate to their chosen charity.
Following closely, the team of Anne Curtis, Ogie Alcasid, and Ryan Bang secured second place, winning P200,000 for their chosen charity. Vhong Navarro, Teddy Corpuz, and Jugs Jugueta took home third place and P100,000 for their tribute to the late comedians of the Philippines. Other teams also received P50,000 for their charities.
The panel of judges included Tirso Cruz III, Olivia Lamasan, Apl.De.Ap, Barbie Forteza, and Jett Pangan. The hosts expressed their gratitude for the support of the audiences and thanked A2Z, GTV, and TV5. Netizens flocked to the weeklong Magpasikat performances, as hashtags like #Showtime14ever and #ShowtimeMagpasikat2023 trended daily. In addition, Mi Familia Homies won the weekly finals of “It’s Showdown” with a combined score of 6.7 from the dance royalties.
