Music icons gather for a special musical tribute to National Artist Ryan Cayabyab
Some of the biggest names in Original Pilipino Music (OPM) are set to come together at the Samsung Performing Arts Theater on May 11 and 12 for “Gen C,” a musical celebration in honor of National Artist Ryan Cayabyab’s 70th birthday.
The lineup for the May 11 show includes Aicelle Santos, Arman Ferrer, Ateneo Chamber Singers, Basil Valdez, Belle Mariano, Bituin Escalante, and many more. Meanwhile, the May 12 show will see the return of some artists along with new additions like Ben & Ben, Bini, Janella Salvador, Juan Karlos, Julie Anne San Jose, and Vice Ganda.
Accompanied by the Philippine Philharmonic Orchestra (PPO), these artists will pay tribute to Mr. C, as Cayabyab is affectionately known, in a musical extravaganza that showcases his enduring influence and impact on the local music scene.
The event is produced by Culturtain Musicat, in collaboration with the Cultural Center of the Philippines, Samsung Performing Arts Theater, and Ayala Land, with proceeds benefiting the Philippine General Hospital Medical Foundation.
The concert is a testament to Cayabyab’s lasting legacy and his ability to bring together multiple generations through his timeless music.
