What is a My.SSS account?

A My.SSS account provides access to the My.SSS or SSS Member Portal, the primary online platform of the government agency. It enables registered members to conveniently and securely access SSS services and their social security records.

Is SSS registration free? Yes, both the registration for a My.SSS account and the usage of the SSS online portal are completely free of charge.

To utilize this online facility, all you need is a smartphone, laptop, or any internet-enabled device. This means you can transact with the SSS Portal anytime and anywhere without the inconvenience of visiting a branch, enduring long queues, or waiting for extended periods.

Why Do I Need to Register for an SSS Online Account?

The SSS portal member registration primarily aims at enhancing your convenience. Completing the SSS online registration process can save you significant time, effort, and stress as you can carry out SSS transactions from the comfort and safety of your home, even outside regular office hours.

Additionally, the SSS is gradually transitioning towards mandatory online transactions, as stated by SSS President and Chief Executive Officer Michael Regino. Hence, it becomes increasingly essential for members to understand how to create an SSS online account.

How to Register as an SSS Member Online: A Step-by-Step Guide

Before initiating the My.SSS online account registration process, ensure that you are already an SSS member. You will need your SSS number and at least one posted SSS contribution.

If you’re not a member yet, wondering how to register as a new SSS member? The initial step is to complete the Personal Record/Unified Multi-Purpose ID (UMID) Card Application Form (E-1/E-6) online.

Once completed, follow these steps to create or open an SSS online account.

Step 1: Go to the SSS Online Registration Page

SSS Step 1
Navigate to the Member Portal (member.sss.gov.ph) and click on “Register” below the SSS Member Login.

This will redirect you to the Online Member User ID Registration page, where you will find eight options. Choose one piece of information previously registered with SSS:

  1. Savings account number / UBP Quick Card / UMID – ATM savings account number registered in SSS
  2. Mobile number registered in SSS
  3. UMID card
  4. Employer ID Number / Household employer ID number
  5. Paid payment reference number / SBR No. / Payment receipt transaction number
  6. Date of the last loan
  7. Transaction number in your Personal Record/Unified Multi-Purpose ID (UMID) Application (E-1/E-6) (only for online SS Number applicants from December 10, 2020 onward)
  8. Check the number of any SSS monthly pension

Step 2: Provide the Required Information

SSS Step 2
Ensure all required fields on the SSS registration form are correctly filled out. Choose your registration preference according to the following guidelines:

  • For pensioner-members:
    • Savings Account Number (where you receive your monthly pension)
    • Check Number (of any monthly pension)
  • For employed members: Employer ID Number (without spaces and dashes between the numbers)
  • For voluntary members: Payment Reference Number or SBR
  • For those with existing loans: Date of Loan
  • For those who just applied for their SS number: Transaction Number

You can also complete your SSS online registration using your mobile number or UMID details.

If you’re unsure about registration preference or how to proceed without it, reach out to your employer or SSS for assistance.

Some tips to remember:

  • Use the format of your name as on your SSS ID or UMID card if it exceeds the character limit.
  • Leave the Middle Name field blank if you don’t have one.
  • Use the drop-down calendar to input your date of birth to avoid errors.
  • If you selected UMID CARD in Step 1, the online form will prompt you for your UMID card pin code.
  • If you haven’t received your pin code, activate your UMID card at select SSS branches.
  • Tick the CAPTCHA box and accept the Terms of Service before submitting.

Double-check all information before clicking Submit. A confirmation message will appear upon successful submission. Click OK.

Step 3: Check Your Email

After submitting your online membership application, SSS will validate your information. If it matches their records, you’ll receive an email from [email protected] in approximately 30 minutes. The email contains an activation link and your user ID.

If you don’t find the SSS email in your main inbox, check your Spam folder, especially if your email provider is not Yahoo Mail (e.g., Gmail, Hotmail, etc.).

Step 4: Activate Your My.SSS Account

Once you receive the email from SSS, click on the My.SSS account activation link. You must activate your account immediately or within five working days, or the link will expire, requiring you to repeat the registration process.

Follow the link to create a password meeting these criteria:

  • Eight to 20 alphanumeric characters
  • First character must be an alphabet
  • No special characters
  • Must differ from your user ID

Click Submit after entering and confirming your password. If both passwords match, you’ll be directed to your activated account.
